The event of distributing clean water to approximately 70 families living in Kunjankal village, Maruthankeni division under the Koralaipattu North Vakarai Divisional Secretariat, was held on 12.03.2026 at the Village Development Society building.
This project was implemented under the coordination of Christy Jesudason, Finance Manager of Wesdaswiss Organization, with the contribution of Ganapathipillai Suthakaran, Project Manager of Direct Help Water Swaziland.
It is noteworthy that this project was provided with a financial allocation of 2.5 million rupees.
Additionally, the villagers honored Ganapathipillai Suthakaran, the contributor of this project, and his wife by draping them with a shawl.
The event was attended by the village chief Nallathambi Velayutham, Keerthana Christy, Kunjankal village officer K. Dilakshan, Maruthankeni tank community empowerment strategist Sundaramurthy, village society member K. Mahendran, members of Star Snekam Sports Club, and many members of the public.
As a request from the villagers to the organization, they asked to establish a small-scale industrial estate in the area.
